Gera –
A four-year-old girl died on a sleigh ride with her parents in Gera after being trapped between two cars. A man had previously lost control of his car while traveling across the snowy surface and crashed into a transporter, as announced by police in Thuringia on Monday. The boy, who was sitting on a sled, was trapped and died of serious injuries. The ambulance service and the emergency doctor were no longer able to save the girl.
The boy went sledding in a field in the Langenberg district on Sunday with his parents and friends. The 25-year-old driver of the car belonged to the group, according to police.
Pastors from crisis intervention teams cared for those present. Police are investigating the accident and will not release further details at this time, a spokeswoman for authorities said.
At the crash site, the accident caused consternation. He was also deeply moved and speechless by what was happening, said Langenberg District Mayor Matthias Kirsch of the “Ostthüringer Zeitung.” As you can see in one image, people had placed flowers and stuffed animals in the snow. Skidding, according to a term used in motorsports, means skidding the car where the rear axle breaks. (dpa)
