As reported by the “Kronenzeitung”, Ernst August was arrested at his hunting lodge in Grünau im Almtal. According to “Krone”, the woman had denounced the prince. She said Ernst August had yelled at her and her husband to “sneak up on them”, otherwise he would send a gang of thugs at them.

Ernst August, known for his madness, had two problems with the local police and the judiciary in July. According to the Austrian news agency APA, investigations are already underway against the prince for these incidents.

The Marienburg is the former summer residence of the Princely House of the Welfs. The castle, built between 1858 and 1867 in the Neo-Gothic style, is located about 20 kilometers south of Hanover and has been preserved in an almost authentic form, including its furniture. Today it serves as a destination.

The sale of the property to the foundation, negotiated between the state government and Ernst August junior, is politically controversial. Because the castle is in ruins. It will be renewed for a total of 27 million euros with funds from the federal government and the state of Lower Saxony. Lower Saxony had stopped selling until the Welf resolved their family dispute.
