The “days of rest” at Easter are over! What rules still apply now?
BILD provides an overview.
► Close to Easter: meetings in public spaces are prohibited between April 1 and 5. Outside catering has to close everywhere.
In addition, the following generally apply:
► Closures: The general lockdown will continue, initially until April 18.
► Contacts: The meeting of a maximum of five people from two households is allowed. Children under 14 do not count, couples count as one household. This also applies to Easter!
► “Emergency break”: If the 7-day incidence increases to more than 100 for three days in a row, stricter rules apply in affected regions. Private meetings are only possible for one household and one additional person. Children under 14 also count.
► Relaxations: Relaxations are possible in regions with an incidence below 35. Meetings are then allowed for a maximum of ten people from three households. Children under 14 do not count, couples count as one household.
►Tests: All citizens can take the test for free at least once a week. Comprehensive tests will be introduced in nurseries and schools.
►To travel: The federal and state governments continue to ask the population not to travel. However, neither domestic nor international travel is PROHIBITED. In Germany, accommodation in hotels and pensions is prohibited (exception: business trips). But as long as travelers remain private, there is no prohibition.
Merkel is currently reviewing a temporary ban on holiday travel abroad, REGARDLESS of how high infection rates are in the holiday country.
A government spokeswoman confirmed that there was “an order to check whether there is a possibility of temporarily preventing travel to popular holiday areas abroad.” However, there are “significant constitutional obstacles” here.
The debate was generated by the federal government’s decision not to classify the island of Mallorca as a corona risk zone as of March 12. The reserves for the island increased rapidly immediately. Merkel says: “It may not be that you should not be 15 kilometers from your place of residence, but you can fly 1500 km.”
