Duisburg: warehouse fire in Hochfeld, fire department warns residents

This article was updated, the last one at 9:31 am on May 13, 2020 – The Duisburg fire brigade is in primary use: A large pile of rubble from old buildings is burned in an old warehouse in Hochfeld on Wednesday morning. The fire brigade has been in place since 5 am with 45 emergency services to extinguish the fire.

As the fire department reports in an update around 9:30 a.m., the smoke cloud is spreading further. As a precaution, measurement vehicles are used in the city area and measure air pollution. Currently there is no danger from contaminants.

The fire department assumes that the extinguishing work will continue for a few hours. The lit battery is made of wood and old tires.
