Dresden is now officially a corona risk area – mask requirement in the new and old city!

The number of corona cases has developed so rapidly in recent days that the seven-day incidence (cases from the past seven days per 100,000 residents) on Friday is 57.
According to the definition of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Dresden is therefore a corona risk area.
From Tuesday, October 27 at midnight, there is a stricter mask requirement in Dresden in certain public places, where the minimum distance of 1.5 meters to strangers and a curfew must not always be respected (from 10 pm) for the catering trade.
“The subsequent entry into force was chosen to give citizens a transition period and an opportunity for consultations early next week,” the city of Dresden said.

On Friday afternoon, the capital of Saxony announced where the new obligation to wear oral and nasal protection applies:

The city also announced the following:

However, that is far from it! The city of Dresden further restricts the number of people at meetings of all kinds:
- “Meetings and private celebrations as well as family celebrations in restaurants or lounges provided by third parties: maximum 10 people “.
- “Company and club celebrations: maximum 10 people “.
- “Important and sporting events: maximum 100 people “.
- “Meetings and gatherings in public spaces: maximum 100 people. This does not apply to meetings under the assembly law. Here are separate regulations. Restrictions on the number of people do not apply to facilities with an approved hygiene concept. Here the concept of hygiene and the protective measures mentioned there are decisive “.
- Specifically, this means: “This applies, for example, to concert halls, cinemas and theaters. Health and social assistance institutions: “Facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals and facilities for the disabled should introduce strict visiting hours and regulations to reduce the number of visits, if this is not already practiced. The objective is to avoid entering facilities with groups of people who need protection ”.
In recent days, the spread of the crown in Dresden has increased rapidly. The health department recorded up to 50 new infections in 24 hours. Recently, more and more cases of the last days were recorded in the statistics of the city administration. This could be a sign that the health department was no longer up to date with the processing of cases.
It was already clear that Dresden would now exceed the critical value. The “lock light” is now around the corner.
