According to his personal physician Sean Conley, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is fine after being infected with the corona virus. Meanwhile, insiders say the 74-year-old has had major health problems in recent days.
“The President is very well this morning,” Conley told reporters at Walter Reed Military Hospital in Bethesda, north of Washington, on Saturday. Trump suffered from a mild cough, nasal congestion and fatigue. However, these symptoms have now improved. Doctors are happy with the progress made in treating Trump.
Shortly after Conley’s press conference, an insider told reporters present that some of Trump’s values had been “very troubling” over the past 24 hours. His condition has improved since he was hospitalized. However, there is still no clear path to a full recovery. The next 48 hours are crucial.
The “New York Times” reported, citing two sources, that Trump had difficulty breathing on Friday. The oxygen level in your blood has dropped. Doctors gave him oxygen and then decided to transfer him to Walter Reed Hospital so they could better treat him in case of complications. The White House had previously stated that Trump’s transfer to the clinic was purely a precautionary measure.

Trump’s personal physician, Conley, initially sidestepped questions about whether Trump had been ventilated at the press conference, eventually declaring that the president was not ventilated on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, at least while his team was present. It left open whether Trump would have received additional oxygen at another time. The oxygen saturation of Trump’s blood was 95 percent, Conley said.
Trump’s blood pressure and cholesterol levels are good, Conley added. Conley did not reveal further details, such as Trump’s initial fever level. Many other questions were left unanswered because Conley and her medical staff ended the press conference shortly after.
The confusion prompted Conley’s statement that Trump’s diagnosis was “72 hours old.” Officially, the White House announced Trump’s corona-positive infection just 35 hours ago. Trump had attended election campaign events on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Conley said Trump was being treated with the drug remdesivir, among other things. Doctors view Remdesivir, which was originally developed to treat Ebola, not as a panacea for Covid 19 disease, but it is often helpful. Conley declined to give a date for Trump to be released from the hospital. Many of the infections appear to stem from an event held in the White House’s Rose Garden last Saturday where Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination as Supreme Court justice was announced.
The infection forces Trump to suspend the electoral campaign a month before the elections. Campaign manager Stepien announced on Friday that all events where the president would appear in person would be postponed or held online. It is unclear whether the Republican will be able to participate in the upcoming television debate with his Democratic challenger Joe Biden, which is scheduled for Oct. 15. Meanwhile, Biden continues his election campaign.
