reUS President Donald Trump, infected with the coronavirus, has returned to the White House after three days of hospital treatment. Trump staged his arrival as a show of force: He climbed the stairs to the balcony on the south side of his residence, removed his mask and greeted the pilot of his departing helicopter. Trump is likely to be contagious, and according to the requirements of health authorities, he would have to wear the mask to protect the people around him. It was not possible to see on television images on Monday afternoon local time that he had put the mask back on when he entered the White House.
The American president had been released from Walter Reed Hospital in a Washington suburb a few minutes earlier. His personal physician, Sean Conley, restricted that Trump “had not yet cleared the mountain.” At the same time, however, he stressed that the White House president would get the best 24-hour medical care. “I feel really good!” The president wrote on Twitter. He was taken to the hospital by helicopter on Friday night.
Trump: to resume campaign soon
Conley told a press conference outside the hospital in the afternoon that he probably couldn’t give the go-ahead for the course of the disease until next week. “If we make it through the weekend to Monday and her condition stays the same or improves, then we can all finally breathe a sigh of relief,” Conley said. But there is nothing that speaks against a dismissal.
The US presidential elections will be in four weeks. Trump announced Monday night on Twitter that he would soon resume his election campaign, which had been suspended due to illness.
The election year is overshadowed by the crown pandemic. Trump, who wants to secure his second term in office on November 3, is accused of gross negligence in dealing with the pandemic due to the numerous deaths in the United States. In recent weeks he has campaigned with thousands of followers. Trump’s illness once again highlighted the pandemic in the final stretch of the elections.
Now the president wrote: “Don’t be afraid of Covid.” The corona virus must not be allowed to dominate one’s life. “We developed some really great drugs and knowledge under the Trump administration. I feel better than 20 years ago! Trump had been treated in the hospital with, among other things, an experimental antibody and steroid drug.
Shortly before, he had justified the trip in his armored limousine to his fans waiting in front of the hospital, also in a tweet. They stood in front of the hospital for hours, even days, to pay their respects to their president, he wrote. If he hadn’t done that, the media would have called him “rude.” Critics accuse Trump of endangering the car’s occupants through his corona infection.
At a press conference, Trump’s personal physician came under fire for allowing the president to take a walk the day before. Sean Conley responded that after consulting with specialists, this was determined to be safe. Trump had not had a fever in more than 72 hours, had not received any antipyretic medication and had normal oxygen levels. The president “was not yet completely free,” the doctors told reporters.
When asked if Trump was showing any side effects from his medication, Conley simply replied, “He’s back. You’ve seen her tweets, her videos, you’ll soon see her in person. ” When asked about Trump’s tweet not to be afraid of Covid 19, the doctor evasively replied: what the president said. “
Since the beginning of the global crisis, more than 7.4 million corona infections have been detected in the United States and more than 210,000 people have died after being infected. The pandemic is not yet under control. Even the White House is grappling with an outbreak, the scope of which is only gradually clearing up. Several people around Trump have been infected, including the first lady, Trump’s campaign manager and one of his closest advisers. His spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany announced his infection on Monday.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the risk of serious illness between the ages of 50 and 60 increases with coronavirus infections. Trump is 74 years old. Pre-existing conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity are other risk factors.
