Donald Trump: former lawyer Michael Cohen accuses him of racism

Some people close to him have reported on Donald Trump’s racist comments, and now Michael Cohen, who has been a lawyer for many years, is doing the same. Trump has often made disparaging remarks about black heads of state – for example, the now-late South African President Nelson Mandela.

Cohen writes about this in a new book due out next week. Reporters from the Washington Post had the opportunity to read it ahead of time and report on it in the newspaper’s Saturday edition.

In his book, Cohen reports on an incident after Mandela’s death in 2013: Trump had expressed his lack of understanding of the respect Mandela had received in the many obituaries. Mandela was not a “leader,” Trump claimed. “Mandela shook the whole country. Now he’s a bastard. F … Mandela.” According to Cohen, Trump has also included all other black leaders in the criticism: “Tell me a country that is run by a black person who is not a bastard,” Trump is said to have declared.

The time before the 2016 election also takes up a lot of space in the book. Trump is a big fan of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Cohen said. The president of the United States was particularly impressed by the way he expanded and secured his power. In essence, however, his admiration had a very simple reason: “Trump thought Putin was incredibly rich, by far the richest man in the world.” Putin ruled Russia as a company, which is exactly what Trump in America wanted all along.

The White House reacted violently to the revelations. Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany massively attacked Cohen and questioned her credibility. That shouldn’t be difficult. Cohen, known as “The Pit Bull,” has been known to do dirty work for Trump for years, for example, arranging cash payments for her lover. Cohen calls himself “the Trump thief.”

While still in Trump’s service, Cohen gave false testimony to Congress and was sentenced to three years in prison. It has now been released.

“Michael Cohen has lost all credibility,” spokeswoman McEnany said now. Her book is an attempt to “profit from lies.”

Last year, Cohen testified as a key witness for Congress when it came to the question of whether impeachment was warranted.
