Doctor criticizes Trump’s short trip

03.20 am: The surprising appearance of Donald Trump in a car in front of Walter Reed Hospital has been criticized. “Every person in the vehicle during this completely unnecessary presidential trip now has to be quarantined for 14 days,” wrote physician James P. Phillips, who also claims to be receiving treatment at Reed Hospital.

“You could get sick. You could die. From the political theater,” Phillips wrote. The fact that the president’s vehicle is not only bulletproof but also hermetically sealed against chemical attack increases the risk of infection for the occupants, the doctor said.

Brian Schatz, a Democrat, Senator from Hawaii, also wrote on Twitter to pray for the health of Trump’s security guards. They know the danger of their work. “You shouldn’t have to think about the fact that the danger comes from your protégé,” Schatz wrote.

Biden tested negative again

1:45 am: Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has tested negative for the coronavirus again. Biden last tested negative for Sars-CoV-2 twice on Friday, Sunday’s retest had already been announced at that time.

On Saturday (local time), Biden’s campaign team spokesman Andrew Bates said the 77-year-old would be screened regularly and make the results of each test public.

Biden had gone on stage with Donald Trump on Tuesday in a television duel before the presidential election.

Trump: “I learned a lot about Covid”

01.00 am: Donald Trump reported again in a video message from Walter Reed Hospital. In addition to thanking the clinic staff and their work, the President of the United States also announced a “surprise visit” for his followers. Shortly afterwards, Trump showed up with several colleagues in an armored vehicle in front of the clinic and greeted his cheering fans.

In the Twitter video, the president described his previous illness as an “interesting journey.” “I learned a lot about Covid,” Trump said. “I learned by going to school. This is the real school, this is not the ‘let’s read the books’ school.” He got it and it was something very interesting, Trump said in reference to the disease. He wanted his followers to know more about it soon.

Poll sees Biden clearly ahead after Trump illness

0.30 am: According to a poll by the Reuters news agency and the market research firm Ipsos, Democratic candidate Joe Biden is even more clearly ahead of the current Trump than he was a few days ago in the race for the US presidency.

After Trump’s Covid 19 disease, Biden was ten percentage points ahead of Trump nationally. This is an increase of one to two points compared to the previous week’s surveys, which, however, have an inaccuracy of five points.

According to the survey, two-thirds of Americans think Trump would not have contracted the coronavirus if he had taken it more seriously. Data was also collected on the president’s credibility: About a third (34 percent) of those surveyed assume that Trump is telling the truth about the coronavirus, 55 percent disagree, and 11 percent are unsure.
