The federal and state health ministers agreed on a strategy for corona vaccination. It is now clear who will pay for the funding and who will run the vaccination centers.
The Conference of Ministers of Health (GMK) of the federal states, together with the federal minister of Health, Jens Spahn (CDU), decided on a “uniform and coordinated procedure for the supply of vaccines”, announced on Saturday the current president of GMK , Berlin Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD). The resolution establishes, among other things, that the federal government purchases and finances vaccines. The federal states established vaccination centers.
60 places for vaccination
According to the decision unanimously approved on Friday, about 60 places are planned for vaccination. These will be announced in a binding manner to the federal government before November 10. “The vaccine is delivered to these places by the Bundeswehr or by the companies themselves,” the decision said. The newspapers of the publishing network in Germany had previously reported on these plans.
In their resolution, the ministers of health also point out that once a vaccine is approved, a limited number of available vaccine doses can be assumed. These should go first to risk groups. The federal and state governments also agreed to launch a “nationwide vaccination campaign.”
Berlin Health Senator Kalayci was satisfied with the joint decision. “It is good that the federal and state governments take responsibility together,” Kalayci said. The agreed vaccination campaign is a “decisive milestone” in tackling the pandemic.
