Apple can once again reserve a first-class addition to its streaming service. So informed Deadline for the company to sign a two-year content creation contract with brokerage and producer Annie Weisman. Weisman has worked on “Desperate Housewives” and is the creator of the upcoming Apple TV + series “Physical”.
Booster for Apple TV +
Work on the new Apple TV + series “Physical” apparently goes well. The conclusion of a two-year contract with Annie Weisman promises that we will see even more of the responsible broker and producer on Apple TV + in the future.
“Physical”, with Rose Byrne (“Bad Neighbors”) in the title role, is best classified in the dramatic genre. Relaxed with some comedy interludes, “Physical” could certainly tell a story worth watching. The idea of a housewife coming out of her boring world thanks to aerobics, everything was settled in the 80s, it exudes a certain charm. However, not much more is known about the plot. Therefore, we can be excited.
The contract is the latest chapter in the battle for talent, in the recently launched competition for streaming services. Media giants like Apple, Disney, NBCUniversal, and WarnerMedia compete with established players like Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu for a piece of the streaming pie. Weisman is obviously a good fit for this.
The producer previously worked for Universal Television, where she was responsible, among other things, as a show runner and creator of “Almost Family”. Before that, Weisman was a screenwriter and producer on the hit series “Desperate Housewives.” She was also a co-producer on Hulu’s The Path, starring Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Michelle Monaghan (True Detective). So Apple has definitely brought a competent booster on board, which we hope to be able to convince us of soon with their first Apple TV + series. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when “Physical” will be released.
