On stage, he described that he had to secretly celebrate his birthday party with his friends during Corona, because otherwise they might have been alerted by neighbors. “I felt like I was with Anne Frank, where they had to be as quiet as a mouse to avoid being caught,” said the girl, whose performance was also available online.
On Twitter, Karlsruhe police described the comparison as “completely inappropriate and in bad taste”. For someone to compare a harmless birthday party to a Jewish girl who had to fear for her life is “completely wrong and a morally reprehensible statement,” a spokesman said Tuesday. Meanwhile, the authenticity of the video and the identity of the eleven-year-old girl have been determined and the wording of her speech has been recorded.
According to police estimates, around 1,000 people participated in the “lateral thinking 721” demonstration on Saturday.
The Interior Minister criticizes the exploitation of the girl

They were discovered and deported in August 1944. The girl died in 1945 at the age of 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
