As of November 4, according to a report, only members of two households will be able to meet. Among other things, the catering establishments will have to close for about four weeks. The protection of risk groups has the highest priority.

The federal government wants to control the growing number of corona infections with drastic contact restrictions. According to a draft of the federal government’s draft resolution for today’s videoconference between Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) with state prime ministers, these measures should go into effect throughout Germany as of November 4 and apply until the end of the month. . The draft of the motion for a resolution was also available to the Funke media group.

The goal of the federal and state governments is “to quickly disrupt the dynamics of infection so that far-reaching restrictions are not necessary during the holiday season,” he says. “Families and friends should be able to get together during the Christmas season even in Corona conditions. This now requires a joint effort, just like in the spring.”

Block for gastronomy and tourism

Among other things, catering establishments such as bars, clubs, discos, pubs and similar establishments will be closed; the only exceptions are the delivery and collection of food for consumption at home. In Germany, only members of your own household and members of another household should be able to stay together in public. This is binding, violations of these contact restrictions would be sanctioned by the regulatory authorities, it says in the draft.

Groups of people celebrating in public places, apartments and private facilities are unacceptable in view of the dire situation. The federal government also wants to ban offers of tourist accommodation in Germany for almost the entire month of November. Accommodation offers should only be made for the necessary purposes. This regulation must also apply from November 4 until the end of the month.

Events must be banned

In addition, the federal government wants to ban events that offer entertainment throughout Germany for most of November. Theaters, operas and concert halls should close from November 4 until the end of the month. The regulation also affects leisure and amateur sports in and in all public and private sports facilities, swimming pools and amusement pools, as well as fitness studios and similar facilities. They should also close fairs, cinemas and amusement parks.

The federal government wants to keep schools and kindergartens open. However, federal states should introduce more protection measures in these areas. Therefore, the retail trade must remain open as a whole, subject to hygiene, access control and queue avoidance.

Risk groups must be specially protected

Businesses in the personal care field, such as cosmetic studios, massage practices or tattoo studios, will close for three and a half weeks in November, depending on the will of the federal government. Hair salons must remain open based on existing hygiene requirements. Medically necessary treatments, such as physical therapy, should also remain possible.

The federal government particularly wants to protect risk groups such as the sick, those in need of care, the elderly, and the disabled. Available rapid corona tests “should now be used quickly and with priority in this area” so that safe contacts can be made possible, according to the proposed draft resolution. The special protection of hospitals, nursing homes, facilities for the elderly and facilities for the disabled should not lead to complete social isolation. Unfortunately, the growing number of infections also led to an increase in infections in medical facilities and in these risk groups.
