The phone numbers and personal details of hundreds of millions of Facebook users were posted on a hacker forum Saturday. This is reported by various media. Although the data is believed to be some years old, it poses a risk to those whose information has been made public.

The posts are said to include personal information for more than 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including more than 32 million user records in the US, 11 million users in the UK, and 6 million users. in India. The records include phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, dates of birth, and in some cases, email addresses.

The data that has now emerged is said to have been discovered by the cybercrime company Hudson Rock. They could provide valuable information to criminals. It is conceivable that unauthorized persons use people’s personal data to impersonate them.

The data had already appeared in encrypted form in January. At the time, a user on the same hacking forum announced an automated bot that, for a price, could supposedly provide the phone numbers of hundreds of millions of Facebook users. But it is possible that no one paid the sale price. Now the entire dataset has been posted for free on the hacking forum and is widely available.
