Countries discuss these points before the Corona summit
For the first time since April, the number of new infections in Germany has risen to more than 5,000. This also increases the pressure before the federal-state summit in the Chancellery. The main focus will be on the accommodation ban.

In the future, private celebrations in hotspots will generally be limited to a maximum of ten participants and two households. Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the prime ministers of the federal states decided this Wednesday in Berlin, according to the German press agency. The limit applies to more than 50 new infections per 100,000 residents in a week.
A general curfew at 11pm was also decided for restaurants. This should also apply in cities and regions where the 50 new infections mark is exceeded. The mask requirement should be expanded from just 35 new infections per 100,000 residents, and applied where people are closest or longest. The newspaper “Bild” reported for the first time about this agreement.
It is not yet clear if anything will change in the so-called accommodation ban. A federal draft for Wednesday’s deliberations contained no new rules. Rather, citizens were “urgently” urged to avoid unnecessary travel outside risk areas and into areas within Germany with a high number of infections.
In many federal states, travelers from areas with a high number of infections already have to present negative corona tests if they want to stay in hotels or pensions. However, overnight stays with friends and family are allowed. In light of the fall break, the regulation had sparked discussions in many federal states.
