Anyone traveling within Germany can no longer be sure. Because the following also applies here in some regions: Quarantine obligation!

Now for a simple explanation: what was previously only valid for foreign countries and only for travel within or outside risk areas is now also available within German borders.

As can be seen in a Bundestag document, which is available to BILD, four federal states tighten the rules for travelers: Berlin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein.

▶ ︎ Means: Anyone entering from a risk area within Germany must be quarantined!

According to the Infection Protection Ordinance (as of October 1, 2020), there is an obligation to quarantine at home if a person enters from a risk area within Germany or travels from there to the respective federal state .

BUT: Classification as a risk area is regulated differently in state regulations:

▶ ︎ In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Rhineland-Palatinate, an area within Germany is automatically considered a risk area as long as the rate of new coronavirus infections exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in a seven-day period, according to the Robert Koch Institute publications.

This now also includes the Berlin-Mitte district.

▶ ︎ In Schleswig-Holstein and Berlin, in addition to the increased number of new infections, an express classification is required by the Ministry of Health / the responsible administration of the Senate.

Schleswig-Holstein has currently classified the Berlin-Mitte district of Berlin as a risk zone. As of September 24, 2020, the Berlin Senate Administration has not named any risk zones in the interior of Germany. So far, new quarantine rules in the four federal states have yet to go into effect, it is said. If the situation for the crown in Germany worsens, it is only a matter of time.
