Schaade geht davon aus, dass die Bürger sich auch ohne Zwang impfen ließen. „Im Moment würde ich denken, dass die Akzeptanz da als sehr hoch zu erwarten ist.“

Update 10.41 Uhr: „Die Vorstellung, dass man durch häufiges Testen sicherstellen kann, dass eine Person nicht in den folgenden Stunden und Tagen das Virus nicht ausschneiden kann, ist falsch“, sagt RKI-Vize Schaade. Deshalb sei ein Mouthguard vor allem im Bereich der Pflege unabdingbar. Denn die Infektion entwickele sich über mehrere Tage und Wochen.

Dabei sollten vor allem die Pflegekräfte darauf achten. Denn der Mundschutz sei für Schwächere Menschen ein zusätzlicher Widerstand beim Atmen. Man solle hier auf den Fremdschutz setzen, so Schaade.

Update 10.27 Uhr: Doch die aktuellen Fallzahlen seien aktuell noch hoch, so Schaade. „2000 Fälle pro Tag sind noch sehr viel.“ Die Fallzahlen müssten auf wenige hundert pro Tag sinken, dann könne man über weitere Lockerungen nachdenken. „Nach zwei Wochen sehen wir frühestens positive oder negative Auswirkungen auf die Fallzahlen.“

Mit den Schulöffnungen müsse es nicht automatisch zu einem sprunghaften Anstieg der Coronavirus-Infektionen kommen, sagt RKI-Vize Schaade am Freitag. Mit entsprechenden Hygienemaßnahmen könne einer solchen Entwicklung entgegengewirkt werden. Da bliebe nur abzuwarten, wie sich die Fallzahlen in Schulen und im Umfeld von Schülern entwickelten.

Update 10.15 Uhr: Die Übersterblichkeit infolge des Coronavirus sei in erster Linie bei Menschen über 60, an manchen Orten über 65-Jährigen zu verzeichnen, sagt RKI-Vize Lars Schaade. In Deutschland gebe es  bisher keine landesweite Übersterblichkeit. Lokal aber doch. Eine solche könne bisher in Hessen und in Berlin verzeichnet werden.

Doch, dass es in Alemania bisher nicht zu einer hohen Übersterblichkeit gekommen sei, sei nun die Folge der frühen Erkennung der Infektionsfälle in Deutschland. Das habe „maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, dass es keine massiven Todeszahlen gibt“, so Schaade. Deshalb und auch wegen der Maßnahmen könnte Deutschland diese Erfolge verzeichnen. „Es ist paradox“, so Schaade. Denn durch den Erfolg der Maßnahmen, würden sie nun in Frage gestellt.

Die Diskussion um die Relieving dürfe nun nicht zu einem Erdrutsch an weiteren Lockerungen führen, so Schaade. „Wenn es wieder zu engeren Kontakten kommt, dann auch zu mehr Fallzahlen.“

Deshalb mahnt der RKI-Vize: „Halten Sie sich weiterhin an die Maßnahmen. Helfen Sie dabei, das Virus in Schach zu halten.“

Bei den Zahlen der Übersterblichkeit in Europa sehe man, dass etwa in Italien, Frankreich und Spanien eine Übersterblichkeit zu verzeichnen sei. „Die Linie der Sterblichkeit geht in diesen Ländern aktuell steil nach oben“, sagt Schaade. Bei einigen Ländern sei diese bereits im März zu verzeichnen gewesen.

Fraglich bleibt, wie gut die Öffnungen zu diesem Zeitpunkt eingeschätzt werden können. Die Zahl der Neuinfektionen ist erst 14 Tage nach einer Infektion berechenbar. Erste Zahlen nach der Lockerung lassen folglich noch auf sich warten.

Update vom 24. April: Nach den ersten Lockerungen der Alltagsbeschränkungen in der Corona-Krise weist Gesundheitsminister Jens Spahn auf weiter lauernde Risiken hin. Nach wie vor herrsche eine „ungewisse und unsichere Lage“, auch wenn die Dynamik der Infektionen hierzulande gebremst worden sei, sagte der CDU-Politiker am Freitag im ZDF-„Morgenmagazin“.

Einer der wichtigsten Schlüssel auf dem Weg in einen „neuen Alltag“ sei nun die geplante Smartphone-Warn-App zur Nachverfolgung möglicher Ansteckungsketten. Dabei werde digital nachvollzogen, was heute schon analog die Gesundheitsämter auf Basis geltenden Rechts machten. Daher werbe er in der Diskussion über den Datenschutz und die Datensicherheit für einen „pragmatischen Ansatz“.

Update vom 23. April, 21.56 Uhr: Nach einer Auswertung der Angaben der Bundesländer von „ntv“ haben sich in Deutschland bisher 150.012 Menschen mit dem neuartigen Coronavirus infiziert. Im Vergleich zu gestern sind demnach 2504 Neuinfektionen dazu gekommen. Im Moment sind damit 47.463 Menschen infiziert und etwa doppelt so viele (97.280) genesen. The Anzahl der Toten steigt um 251 auf insgesamt 5269. Bayern verzeichnet mit 39.820 die meisten Fälle, gefolgt von NRW mit 30.598 und Baden-Württemberg mit 29.912.

Update vom 23. April, 17.42 Uhr: One Friseurin hat in Niedersachsen trotz Verbots wegen der Corona-Krise Kunden in einem Baucontainer bedient. Nach einem Zeugenhinweis stießen Polizeibeamte am Mittwoch auf zwei mutmaßliche Kunden in dem Container, der komplett mit Waschbecken, Toilette, Spiegel, Trockenhaube, Kundenkartei und weiterem Salonzubehör ausgestattet war, wie die Polizei Cuxhaven am Donnerstag mitteilte.

Die Friseurin aus der Samtgemeinde Land Hadeln muss nun mit einem hohen Bußgeld rechnen, weil sie gegen die niedersächsische Verordnung zum Schutz vor Neuinfektionen mit dem Coronavirus verstieß. Gegen die mutmaßliche Kundschaft wurden ebenfalls Ordnungswidrigkeitenverfahren eingeleitet.

Pietro Lombardi und Roland Kaiser verschieben Tourneen wegen Coronavirus

Für die Fans von PopsängerPietro Lombardi sowie der Schlagerstars Roland Kaiser und Howard Carpendale heißt es warten: Die drei Künstler verschieben ihre Tourneen wegen der Corona-Krise.

Lombardis Management teilte am Donnerstag mit, der Sänger habe sich für einen „Sicherheitsabstand“ von einem Jahr entschieden, damit die Konzerte dann auch wirklich stattfinden können. Statt nächsten Monat startet die Tournee des 27-Jährigen nun am 15. Mai 2021 in Hamburg. Die bereits verkauften50 000 Tickets bleiben weiterhin gültig. Der Gewinner der RTL-Castingshow „Deutschland sucht den Superstar“ von 2011 will insgesamt 18 Konzerte in deutschen Städten sowie in Zürich, Wien und Luxemburg spielen.

Schlagersänger Roland Kaiser hatte 13 Konzerte seiner Frühjahrstournee „Alles für Dich“ schon einmal verschieben müssen. Nun legt sich der 67-Jährige auf März und April 2021 fest. Howard Carpendale kann die für den Zeitraum 29. April bis 10. Mai 2020 geplanten Konzerte der Tour „Die Show meines Lebens“ wegen der Corona-Einschränkungen ebenfalls nicht absolvieren.

Studie: Coronavirus tritt wahrscheinlich durch die Nase in den Körper

Spezielle Zellen in der Nase sind einer Studie zufolge die wahrscheinlichsten Eintrittspforten für das neue Coronavirus. Mehrere Forscherteams hatten Zellen aus Lunge, Nase, Auge, Darm, Herz, Niere und Leber untersucht, wie das Max-Delbrück-Centrum für Molekulare Medizin (MDC) in Berlin am Donnerstag berichtete. Sie wollten herausfinden, welche Zellen die beiden wichtigsten Eintrittsproteine ACE2 und TMPRSS2 enthalten, die das Virus für die Infektion nutzt. „Wir haben dann gezeigt, dass von allen Zellen die schleimproduzierenden Becherzellen undFlimmerzellen in der Nase die höchsten Konzentrationen dieser beiden Proteine aufweisen“, erklärte Hauptautor Waradon Sungnak vom Wellcome Sanger Institute. „Das macht diese Zellen zum wahrscheinlichsten Erstinfektionsweg für das Virus.“

Die beiden wichtigsten Eintrittsproteine seien auch in Hornhaut-Zellen des Auges und in der Darmschleimhaut zu finden, berichtete das Max-Delbrück-Centrum weiter. Das deute auf einen weiteren möglichen Infektionsweg über das Auge beziehungsweise die Tränendrüsen hin. Es gebe demnach auch ein Potenzial für eine Übertragung über Fäkalien und die Aufnahme durch den Mund, schreibt des MDC eher vorsichtig. Ihr Ergebnis haben die Forscherteams im Fachjournal „Nature Medicine“ veröffentlicht.

Update vom 23. April, 11.26 Uhr: In Deutschland sind bis Donnerstagvormittag mehr als 147.500 Coronavirus-Infektionen registriert worden (Vortag Stand 10.15 Uhr: mehr als 144.800 Infektionen). Das hat eine Auswertung der Nachrichtenagentur dpa ergeben. Mindestens 5023 Menschen, die sich mit dem Erreger Sars-CoV-2 angesteckt haben sind diesen Angaben zufolge bislang bundesweit gestorben (Vortag Stand 10.15 Uhr: 4745).

Bei einer Coronavirus-Infektion galten Raucher bislang als besonders gefährdet. Forscher haben nun möglicherweise eine schützende Wirkung von Nikotin entdeckt.

Erste Stadt in Deutschland erklärt sich für Corona-frei

Rostocks Oberbürgermeister Claus Ruhe Madsen erklärt seine Stadt als vermutlich erste Großstadt in Deutschland für Corona-frei. „Der letzte zurzeit an COVID-19 erkrankte Rostocker konnte jetzt aus der Quarantäne entlassen werden“, erklärte Madsen am Donnerstag. Die von der Stadtverwaltung frühzeitig ergriffenen Maßnahmen hätten „vollen Erfolg“ gehabt. Zudem hätten sich die Rostockererinnen und Rostocker „unglaublich vorbildlich verhalten“, fügte der Oberbürgermeister hinzu.

Rostock hat knapp 210.000 Einwohner. In den vergangenen Wochen wurden in der Stadt vom Landesgesundheitsamt insgesamt 75 Corona-Fälle registriert. Mit 657 Fällen hat Mecklenburg-Vorpommern bundesweit die geringste Anzahl von Infektionen pro 100.000 Einwohnern.

Weltärztepräsident findet deutsche Maßnahme „lächerlich“

Update vom 23. April, 7.26 Uhr: The Weltärztepräsident Frank Ulrich Montgomery hat die ab kommender Woche in ganz Deutschland geltende Maskenpflicht scharf kritisiert. Zwar trage er selber „aus Höflichkeit und Solidarität“ eine Maske, halte jedoch eine gesetzliche Pflicht für „falsch“, sagte Montgomery der Düsseldorfer Rheinischen Post. Seine Begründung: Wer eine Maske trage, werde durch ein trügerisches Sicherheitsgefühl dazu verleitet, den „allein entscheidenden Mindestabstand“ zu vergessen.

Zudem könnten die Masken bei unsachgemäßem Gebrauch gefährlich werden, warnte Montgomery. Im Stoff konzentriere sich das Virus, beim Abnehmen werde die Gesichtshaut berührt, schneller sei eine Infektion kaum möglich. Aus Sicht des Weltärztepräsidents sollte es eine gesetzliche Maskenpflicht nur für echte Schutzmasken geben – eine Pflicht für Schals und Tücher sei „lächerlich“. Zugleich verwies er aber darauf, dass man derzeit noch alle „echt wirksamen Masken“ für das medizinische Personal, Pflegende und Gefährdete brauche.

Inzwischen wollen viele Supermärkte in Deutschland die Schutzmasken in ihr Sortiment aufnehmen.

Update vom 22. April, 21.15 Uhr: Die Zahl der Corona*-bedingten Todesfälle in Deutschland steigt weiterhin, bislang starben der Deutschen Presse-Agentur zufolge 5018 Menschen. Laut der Statistik der Johns-Hopkins-Universität in Baltimore sollen es sogar 5.185 Todesfälle sein. Die Zahl der registrierten Infektionen stieg um 2749 auf 147.508 an, was die 1609 Neuinfektionen vom Vortag in den Schatten stellte. Die Zahl der Todesopfer soll sich laut n-tv um weitere 280 Personen in Deutschland erhöht haben.

Die Johns-Hopkins-Universität geht aktuell von 99.400 genesenen Coronavirus-Patienten fuera Die Zahl der aktuell infizierten Personen soll sich der DPA zufolge auf 48.863 belaufen. Allerdings hatte das Bundesland Berlin technische Probleme bei der Datenübertragung, weshalb die Daten unvollständig seien. Die Behörde meldete demnach 14 neue Infektionen, keinen Toten und keinen Genesenen. Zudem variiert die Uhrzeit, wann ein neuer Tagesstand gemeldet wird, zwischen den Bundesländern.

Auf 100.000 Einwohner verzeichnet das flächenmäßig größte Bundesland Bayern mit einem Wert von 299,7 Infektionen den höchsten Wert, der Bundesschnitt beträgt 177,3. Die Anzahl der bisher durchgeführten Tests pro 100.000 Einwohner in den Bundesländern ist jedoch unterschiedlich hoch.

Update vom 22. April, 18.55 Uhr: Kürzlich wurde bundesweit die Öffnung von Geschäften mit einer Fläche unter
800 Quadratmeter erlaubt, was bei vielen Ladenbetreibern für Verwirrung und Unverständnis gesorgt haben dürfte. Ein Hamburger Gericht kippte das Gesetz nun für die Hansestadt.

Die Schließung der Läden mit mehr als 800 Quadratmetern Verkaufsraum, die der Senat aufrecht erhielt, wurde vom Verwaltungsgericht Hamburg für unzulässig explicado Das Gericht gab einem Eilantrag eines Hamburger Sportgeschäfts mit diesem Beschluss statt, wie ein Sprecher mitteilte. Der Senat will die Maßnahmen gegen die Corona-Pandemie* jedoch durchsetzen und soll bereits Beschwerde gegen die Entscheidung beim Hamburger Oberverwaltungsgericht eingereicht haben. Zudem beantragte er, dass die Regeln bis zu einer Entscheidung bestehen bleiben sollten.

Die seit vergangenem Montag in Kraft getretenen Lockerungen bei den Ladenöffnungen verstoße laut des Verwaltungsgerichts gegen das Recht der Berufsfreiheit. One Unterscheidung zwischen Geschäften mit einer Verkaufsfläche unter 800 Quadratmetern, die nun öffnen dürfen, und größeren, die nur mit reduzierter Fläche öffnen dürfen, sei „nicht geeignet, dem mit der Rechtsverordnung verfolgten Zweck des Infektionsschutzes zu dienen“, so das Gericht. Der Schutz in großen Geschäften sei „ebenso gut wie oder sogar besser als in kleineren Einrichtungen“.

Derweil warnte Virologe Prof. Drosten die Bevölkerung davor, den Vorsprung im Rennen gegen die Pandemie zu verspielen.

Update vom 22. April, 15.20 Uhr: Bundesgesundheitsminister Jens Spahn hat um Verständnis für schwierige politische Entscheidungen in der Corona-Krise* geworben. Am Mittwoch sagte er im Bundestag, „dass wir miteinander wahrscheinlich viel werden verzeihen müssen in ein paar Monaten“. Noch nie in der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik hätten in so kurzer Zeit unter solchen Umständen und Unwägbarkeiten so tiefgreifende Entscheidungen getroffen werden müssen.

Neben der Politik werde auch für die Gesellschaft und die Wissenschaft eine Phase kommen, in der man feststelle, dass man vielleicht an der einen oder anderen Stelle falsch gelegen habe oder etwas korrigieren müsse. Dies finde er in einer Zeit wie dieser „vergleichsweise normal“.

Spahn verteidigte zugleich die weitreichenden Kontaktbeschränkungen im Kampf gegen die Epidemie und wies Vergleiche etwa mit der Grippe zurück. „Ich habe noch keine Grippe gesehen, die zu Massengräbern in New York geführt hat.“

In einer weiteren Branche in Deutschland gibt es unterdessen Corona-Lockerungen.

Update vom 22. April, 14.33 Uhr: In Deutschland soll es nun bundesweit eine Mask requirement zur Eindämmung des Coronavirus geben. Am Mittwoch kündigte auch Bremen als letztes Bundesland eine Plicht zum Tragen eines Mund-Nasen-Schutzes an: Sie solle am Freitag beschlossen werden und ab Montag für den Nahverkehr und das Einkaufen gelten, teilte ein Sprecher der Landesregierung mit.

April, 13.50 Uhr: Bundesgesundheitsminister Jens Spahn (CDU) hat sich am frühen Mittwochnachmittag zu der Genehmigung einer ersten klinischen Prüfung mit einem möglichen Covid-19-Impfstoff in Deutschland geäußert. Er bezeichnete diese Entwicklung als „gutes Signal“. Wirkungen und Nebenwirkungen müssten allerdings noch getestet werden.

Update vom 22. April, 12.21 Uhr: Wie nun bekannt wurde, führt auch das Bundesland Nordrhein-Westfalen eine Maskenpflicht to. Und auch Saarland, Niedersachsen, Brandenburg und Rheinland-Pfalz wollen diese Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Coronavirus-Ausbreitung beschließen. Damit tritt nun in fast allen 16 Bundesländern in den nächsten Tagen eine Maskenpflicht in Kraft.

In Nordrhein-Westfalen, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz und im Saarland soll die Maskenpflicht im öffentlichen Nahverkehr und im Einzelhandel ab kommenden Montag Apply. Das teilten die Regierungssprecher am Mittwoch in einer Erklärung mit. In einzelnen Städten wie Jena und oder auch im oberbayerischen Rosenheim gilt sie bereits. Landesweit wird die Maskenpflicht in Bayern ab kommenden Montag gelten. Das einzige Bundesland, das die Pflicht zur Bedeckung von Mund und Nase in bestimmten öffentlichen Bereichen bislang noch nicht offiziell angeordnet hat, ist der Stadtstaat Bremen.

Coronavirus in Deutschland: Paul-Ehrlich-Institut genehmigt erstmals klinische Impfstoff-Testung an Menschen

Berlin – Erstmals hat das Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) nun in Alemania eine Zulassung für die klinische Prüfung eines Impfstoff-Kandidaten gegen Corona erteilt. Wie das Bundesinstitut für Impfstoffe* und biomedizinische Arzneimittel am Mittwoch mitteilte, erhält das Mainzer Unternehmen Biontech die Genehmigung, seinen Wirkstoff an gesunden Freiwilligen zu testen.

Coronavirus: In Deutschland startet klinische Prüfung eines Impfstoff-Kandidaten mit rund 200 Testpersonen

Dem Unternehmen zufolge soll es Tests an rund 200 Personen geben. „Die Erprobung von Impfstoffkandidaten am Menschen ist ein wichtiger Meilenstein auf dem Weg zu sicheren und wirksamen Impfstoffen gegen Covid-19 für die Bevölkerung in Deutschland und darüber hinaus“, teilte das PEI mit. Die Genehmigung sei nun das Ergebnis einer sorgfältigen Bewertung des potenziellen Nutzen-Risiko-Profils des Impfstoff-Kandidaten.

Bei der Entwicklung des Impfstoffs kooperiert Biontech mit dem Pharmaunternehmen Pfizer. Unter anderem soll in der klinischen Studie der Phase I/II grundlegend die Sicherheit und Verträglichkeit des Impfstoff-Kandidaten geprüft ser Phase I/II bezieht sich dabei auf die Schritte, in denen eine klinische Prüfung standardmäßig abläuft. Zunächst gibt es sogenannte präklinische Studien mit Zell- und Tierversuchen, in Phase I beginnt die klinische Prüfung mit wenigen gesunden Freiwilligen und in Phase II wird meist an einigen Hundert Menschen untersucht, ob der Testkandidat wirkt. Phase I und II können auch kombiniert werden, wie es in der nun startenden klinischen Prüfung geschieht.

In der dritten Phase der Prüfung werden Tausende Menschen einbezogen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Prüfungsphase sind für die Anträge auf Zulassung eines Impfstoffs von entscheidender Bedeutung. Phase-IV-Studien erfolgen dann erst nach der Zulassung. Sie dienen beispielsweise dazu, seltene Nebenwirkungen zu erkennen oder spezielle Fragestellungen an bestimmten Patientengruppen zu untersuchen.

Der von Biontech entwickelte Wirkstoff gehört zur Gruppe der genbasierten Impfstoffe. Sie enthalten genetische Informationen des Erregers. Daraus werden im Körper Proteine hergestellt, gegen die das Immunsystem Abwehrstoffe bildet. Das soll ihn vor einer Ansteckung mit dem Virus* schützen.

Coronavirus in Deutschland: Biontech arbeitete bislang an Immuntherapien gegen Krebs

Bisher arbeitete Biontech vorrangig an der Entwicklung von Immuntherapien gegen Krebs. Seit dem Ausbruch der Covid-19-Epidemie sind laut Angaben des Verbands forschender Arzneimittelhersteller mindestens 80 Impfstoffprojekte angelaufen, demnach werden vier Wirkstoffe bereits in klinischen Studien in China und den USA getestet.

In Deutschland sollen nach Angaben von PEI-Präsident Klaus Cichutek in diesem Jahr voraussichtlich insgesamt vier klinische Studien mit einem Impfstoffkandidaten starten. Cichutek hält es jedoch für unwahrscheinlich, dass noch in diesem Jahr ein erster zugelassender Impfstoff für die allgemeine Bevölkerung bereit steht. Auch das RKI hat Mitte April Hoffnungen auf einen baldigen Impfstoff gebremst – und einen realistischen Zeitpunkt für die Verfügbarkeit eines Wirkstoffs genannt.

Die Johns Hopkins Universität registriert unterdessen in Deutschland am Mittwochmittag 148.453 Corona-Infizierte and 5086 Todesfälle im Zusammenhang mit einer Covid-19-Erkrankung. Demnach sind außerdem 99.400 Personen nach einer Corona-Infektion wieder genesen.
