“Turn off panic mode”: health insurance doctors advocate relaxation of crown rules

“The numbers give reason to rethink the crown’s measures without becoming reckless,” Gassen said. Germany’s health authorities had last reported 1,484 new corona infections in one day. The number of deaths related to a corona infection is 9342. That is one more than the day before. According to RKI estimates, around 230,600 people had survived the infection as of Thursday morning.
For the first time since June, the number of corona tests recorded weekly by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has decreased again. In the week of August 31 to September 6, a good million tests were counted, about 50,000 fewer than in the previous week. It is the first time since the week of June 22-28 that the number of tests has decreased again.
According to RKI estimates in Germany, the number of views, or the R-value for short, was 0.9 (previous day: 0.88) based on Thursday’s announcement. This means that an infected person infects less than another person on average. The R value represents the infection rate approximately one and a half weeks earlier.
Additionally, the RKI gives a seven-day R on its current status report. The value refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value was 1.04 (previous day: 0.95). It shows the infection process for eight to 16 days.
