Democrats are already spreading such praise for Trump. The Internet has a good memory, and video snippets have shaped America’s election campaigns. Trump has been giving up his mix of talking about the “Chinese virus” for a few weeks, after a phone call with Xi and after the violence against Asian Americans. But if he stays with that?
Top Republican politicians are now calling on Trump to increase pressure on China. “China has unleashed this global pandemic and they should pay a price for it,” says Senator Tom Cotton.
Trump himself praises himself for stopping the entry of China from February 2. Subsequently, several planes from China landed with a total of around 40,000 travelers.
