Trump’s condition was possibly more serious than claimed
In October, Donald Trump fell ill with Covid-19. The then president of the United States was treated in a military hospital for three days. Now it is known: apparently, the Republican was much worse than what the White House admitted at the time.
According to a New York Times report, then-US President Donald Trump’s Covid 19 disease was more serious than the White House had admitted last year. The newspaper reported, citing four unidentified sources, that Trump’s blood oxygen saturation had dropped to critical levels before he was taken to hospital. Trump is also said to have had visible signs of pneumonia on X-rays, as the “New York Times” reported.
Trump, 74, was airlifted to a military hospital in early October 2020 due to Covid disease. During a three-day stay there, according to official information, he was treated with Regeneron’s experimental antibody agent, the remdesivir virus inhibitor, and the steroid dexamethasone. The experts saw evidence of a more severe course of the disease in the use of the drugs.
According to the “New York Times,” Trump’s oxygen saturation was sometimes only above 80 percent. Experts generally consider less than 90 percent to be a critical condition. Such a low oxygen saturation is one of the reasons for the use of dexamethasone. At the time, the White House officially said that Trump’s saturation had temporarily fallen to 93 percent.
In addition to Trump, several people around him were also infected last year, including the First Lady, Trump’s campaign manager at the time, and one of his closest advisers, Kayleigh McEnany.
