The World Health Organization (WHO) has re-registered a registry of recently reported corona cases in one day. More recently, 307,930 new infections were reported worldwide in 24 hours. That comes from WHO data released Sunday.

This is about a thousand cases more than the most recent high a week ago. Since the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen became known late last year, more than 28.6 million infections have been reported worldwide.

However, according to experts, the number of unreported cases is considerable. The leaders in the new cases are India, the United States and Brazil in absolute terms. Spain ranks fourth with around 12,000 new infections in one day.

According to WHO statistics (as of 1:00 pm CEST), more than 917,000 infected people have died worldwide so far. The number of deaths reported on a daily basis has remained relatively constant recently, according to WHO data. Around 5,500 deaths were recorded in 24 hours on Sunday.
