In parts of Saxony and Bavaria, the seven-day incidence values exceed 500 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, and in some places there is a risk of overloading intensive care units. In some federal states, therefore, stricter measures to curb the spread of the virus have been announced or already decided.
The severity and scope of the measures are extremely different. In some places, a new closure is being introduced with store closures and nighttime curfews, while in other places only the sale of alcohol or mulled wine is banned. The summary:
Baden-Wuerttemberg
In Baden-Württemberg, the current contact restrictions will only be relaxed from December 23 to 27.
The state government wants to ban outdoor alcohol service in light of the large number of mulled wine stands. Municipalities should implement this from the third advent.
With a seven-day incidence of more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, municipalities must, among other things, order night-out restrictions, ban events and close hairdressers, currently, for example, in Mannheim, Heilbronn and Pforzheim.
Bayern
In Bavaria, the strictest crown measures should apply from tomorrow Wednesday. According to Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), the disaster is declared.
Furthermore, the general exit restrictions should apply to all of Bavaria. The consumption of alcohol in public places should be prohibited. The Bavarian state government wants to keep the relaxation for Christmas for now, but only from December 23 to 26.

Berliners must also be prepared for major new restrictions. Economic Sen. Ramona Pop (Greens) announced after a Senate meeting on Tuesday that retail stores could temporarily close after Christmas.
There should be exceptions for grocery stores and pharmacies. The education administration is also considering extending the Christmas break beyond January 4, which under current plans would be the first day of school in the new year. The measures have not yet been decided.

Brandenburg

Hamburg
The Hamburg Senate had already announced late Monday that the sale of mulled wine and other hot alcoholic beverages would be restricted until early January in certain urban areas. In some parts of the city there is now a ban starting at 4 pm

In Saarland, alcohol is prohibited in crowded places and streets on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The previous contact restrictions will be relaxed between December 23 and 27, the Saarland State Chancellery announced.
The regulation will be adapted to combat the corona pandemic. It will go into effect on December 14 and will last until December 27. Saxony

Schleswig-Holstein
Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) has ruled out a possible easing in his state until early next year. This “definitely” won’t happen until January 10, Günther said in Kiel. He urged all citizens to minimize contacts and abide by restrictions.
Thuringia
The Thuringian state government does not want to relax crown measures during Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Health Minister Heike Werner (Linke) said the situation is worrying.
