Coronavirus – The doctor who talks about healthy Trump – Politics

Sean Conley has a rather unusual track record for a presidential physician. For two years he has been head of the White House medical team, the first osteopathic specialist in this position, an expert in holistic medicine.

Conley, born in 1980, was assigned the task in May 2018. Before him, Ronny Jackson was Trump’s personal physician. Trump was so impressed that he wanted to make him Minister of Veterans Affairs. Then reports came in that he was drinking at work and handing out strong narcotics like candy. His nickname was “Candy Man”. Jackson did not become a minister after all.

What Sean Conley and Ronny Jackson have in common is that they have always testified to the president of better health. Jackson said in early 2018 that Trump could “live to be 200” if he ate a little better. That could have been as far-fetched as Conley’s remarks about Trump’s health over the weekend.

Despite multiple reports that Trump was said to have a high fever, at least on Friday, and struggled with respiratory problems, Conley initially insisted that Trump was fine. Little by little, the doctor had to admit that things were not so good for the president.

At Notre Dame Catholic University in Indiana, Conley earned a Bachelor of Science. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. Osteopaths believe that many diseases are due to the condition of the bones, joints, and nervous system.

Thereafter, Conley served in the United States Navy as an ambulance at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. She later ran a NATO trauma center for wounded soldiers in Afghanistan. Before joining the White House, she led a trauma research team in Portsmouth.

Conley first came to public attention when he confirmed in May that Trump had been administered the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19. Trump had praised hydroxychloroquine as a miracle drug in the fight against the corona disease Covid-19 from the beginning and without any scientific evidence.

The US drug approval agency, FDA, had approved the drug as an experimental drug in the fight against Covid-19 under pressure from the White House. The FDA withdrew this approval in mid-June. For proven ineffectiveness. By the way, Trump is not currently getting the drug, as Conley said on Saturday.

That was also the day that Conley’s credibility was seriously damaged. After initially describing Trump’s overall condition as excellent, Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, appeared before the press and stated that the president’s condition was very concerning. The next two days are crucial.

Conley admitted the next day that he hadn’t told the public the whole truth. “She did not want to give any information that could direct the course of the disease in an unfavorable direction.” Apparently, she gave the impression that she was hiding something “that was not necessarily true,” Conley said. But when it comes to her prominent patient, she stands firm: “The fact is, she’s doing great.”
