According to the state government, the main carnival events are canceled in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since the Crown Protection Ordinance cannot be enforced at balls, restaurant celebrations and street parades, there will be no such events, says the head of the Düsseldorf State Chancellery, Nathanael Liminski.

For carnivalists, “health comes first,” said Kuckelkorn. “There can be no celebration at any price.” Carnivalists demand “a lot of creativity” this season. Now it’s about “using the little frame we have left”.
