Association: Nursing homes are overwhelmed with rapid tests

The care industry has criticized the rules for the use of rapid corona antigen tests in nursing homes. Regular testing of residents, staff and visitors to prevent corona breakouts without visit bans is not feasible in terms of personnel, said Stefan Werner, vice president of the German Professional Association of Nursing Professions of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” . He feared a “burden-sharing to the detriment of care services and care facilities” due to overloaded health authorities. The federal government probably wants drastic contact restrictions

Apparently, the federal government wants to get the growing number of corona infections back under control with drastic contact restrictions. According to constant reports in the media, this stems from a draft resolution for today’s consultations with the federal states. Consequently, among other things, leisure facilities and restaurants will be closed across the country at the end of November and events will be banned. It is unclear whether and to what extent federal states will support the measures. Lower Saxony’s Minister of Social Affairs, Carola Reimann, told NDR Info that her country would be very concerned about uniformity.
