MV and HH require higher upfront payments for “November aid”

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Hamburg is demanding a larger down payment for “November aid” from the federal government. The trigger is that the main payment will probably last until January. The federal government promises a maximum discount of 10,000 euros to companies that have applied for “November aid.” The money should have already been transferred. Industries say liquid funds are about to run out. Bankruptcy threat.

City cleaners have to get rid of more plastic waste due to Corona

Due to the corona pandemic, the Hamburg city cleanup has removed much more plastic waste this year than in previous years. So far, nearly 35,500 tonnes of waste from recycling bins and yellow bags have been collected, as a company spokesman told the German Press Agency. In 2019, almost 33,450 tonnes had been removed by the end of October; in 2018, it was a good 32,140 tonnes. The most notable change occurred in March and April, that is, in the months of the first so-called blockade.

RKI: more than 13,000 new infections – 388 more deaths

The Robert Koch Institute reports an increase in confirmed corona cases in Germany from 13,604 to more than 1,067 million. The day before, 11,169 new infections had been reported, 13,554 last Tuesday. The number of people who died from Covid 19 disease increased from 388 to 16,636. The so-called 7-day R-value fell slightly in 24 hours, from 0.95 to 0.91. This means that, in theory, 100 infected people infect 91 more people. The value represents the appearance of the infection 8 to 16 days ago. If the value is less than 1 for a longer period of time, the infection rate decreases.
