More complex and expensive shootings: fewer film productions in Hamburg

Due to the Corona crisis, the number of films filmed in Hamburg has more than halved compared to 2019. Many filming was postponed due to the pandemic, not least because of a lack of funding, said Alexandra Luetkens of the Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein Film Fund. While in 2019 film funding counted 13 films made in the Hanseatic city, there were only six at the beginning of November. “Films were and are particularly affected by the risk of failure,” Luetkens said. According to this, this year there were no major international projects. Independent filmmakers and production companies in particular are currently in dire straits due to the pandemic, as Luetkens said. Containment measures on set have also made shooting more expensive. For example, additional vehicles would have to be rented so that film crews can keep their distance during catering. As a general rule, the crew should also be tested for the virus twice a week, which places an additional burden on the budget.

10,284 new corona cases reported nationwide

German health authorities reported 10,824 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in 24 hours. That’s about 6,100 fewer cases than yesterday, as RKI information indicates this morning. The number of cases registered is usually lower on Mondays, in part because fewer tests are performed on weekends. Last Monday, the number of new infections reported was 13,363. The peak was reached on Friday with 23,542 reported cases. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 801,327 people in Germany have been infected with Sars-CoV-2. The number of deaths related to the virus increased from 62 to a total of 12,547. According to RKI’s management report yesterday, the so-called seven-day R was 1.03 (previous day: 1.05). This means that, in theory, 100 infected people infect about 100 more people. The value represents the onset of infection 8-16 days ago. If it is below 1 for a long time, the infection process subsides.

Lower Saxony: so far fewer than 20 doctors have been reported as crown deniers

The Lower Saxony Medical Association has encouraged patients to report crown deniers among physicians. However, there are only a few individual cases, the medical association said. Relative to the total membership of almost 43,000 physicians in Lower Saxony, this is a very low double-digit number below 20. “If we receive complaints, we check them according to professional law and we also obtain statements from interested physicians.” the spokesman said. the Medical Association, Thomas Spieker. If necessary, a professional procedure will be initiated with the option of filing a complaint or requesting a professional legal procedure. “In individual cases, it can also make sense to file criminal charges,” Spieker said. Complaints are taken very seriously, as the Chamber considers that complaints are not consistent with conscientious medical conduct.

Heads of country discuss the current situation of the crown with Chancellor Merkel

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the prime ministers are discussing today via videoconference the corona restrictions that have been in place for two weeks and the situation with the development of the number of infections. At their last meeting, the current partial lockdown was decided, which should last at least until the end of November. There are currently no signs that the restrictions have been eased. The aim of the measures is to significantly reduce the rate at which the virus spreads. In the discussion, however, there was a tightening of contact restrictions and a kind of “label” with behavioral instructions. Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) said in a “Spiegel” interview over the weekend with a view to possible different paths of the federal states: “We have now agreed on a common path because the situation seemed to get out of control. But In the long term, this cannot mean that the same measures are applied everywhere, regardless of how high the incidence figures are. “
