The prime ministers of the federal states want to discuss with Chancellor Angela Merkel on January 5 how things will continue from January 10 with the measures, initially limited in time.

The number of reported coronavirus infections in Germany has risen to 1,765,821. As can be seen from information from state authorities evaluated by ntv.de, 11,936 new cases were added.
