More than 300,000 people have been infected in Germany since the start of the pandemic. There were also many new cases on Sunday. Corona’s cabinet does not want to announce what new measures will be taken until next week.

At the end of January, car supplier Webasto was informed of the first corona case in Germany. The virus has triggered a global pandemic, with more than 300,000 people infected in Germany.

The Robert Koch Institute reported 1,382 new cases in the past 24 hours. Like last time, the daily value was relatively low due to the slowness of the reports from the health authorities over the weekend. Last week, the RKI reported more than 2,600 new infections.

According to the institute, the number of deaths increased by five to 9534. The number of people who survived the infection is only estimated by the RKI. The current value is 263,700.

How are the case numbers developing? The R value provides information about this. For Sunday the RKI gives it as 1.23 (previous day: 1.10). This means that an infected person infects more than one other person on average. The R value represents the infection rate approximately one and a half weeks earlier.

The new measures will be announced on October 15.

At today’s meeting of the so-called Crown Cabinet, Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the pandemic with the responsible ministers. It was about the implementation of the resolutions of the last federal-state summit to contain the pandemic, such as entry regulations. No concrete decisions have been made yet. Only in the next week should there be certainty about the exact design of new measures in the fight against the virus. “Next week will bring important changes and decisions,” said government spokesman Steffen Seibert after the deliberations. The “target” is October 15, when the new measures will take effect.

The federal and state governments had previously asked citizens not to go on vacation to risk areas. For returnees from these countries, a new quarantine regulation will apply from mid-October. Details have yet to be determined. So far it is expected that the quarantine can only end with a test from the fifth day after the return.

They warn me against being overly optimistic about the infection situation. Berlin report the Federal Minister of Finance. He did not want to raise hopes too high, the crown crisis in Germany could end in the foreseeable future, said Olaf Scholz. “It will take a while.” Of course, all the possibilities would be tried to be able to relax the restrictions.
