Söder had announced “Lockdown” for Berchtesgadener Land
In the fight against the extremely growing number of corona infections in Berchtesgadener Land, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) had previously announced that he wanted to impose a “lockdown”. There will be a package of measures “corresponding to a blockade,” Söder said.

The Berchtesgadener Land district is comparatively sparsely populated with a population density of 126 per square kilometer. It is not exactly clear how the wave of infection came about. “The starting point was again a corresponding party,” Söder said. Other sources of infection may be possible.
The proximity to Austria also calls for drastic measures, Söder said. If no consistent action is taken now, the high number can no longer be lowered.
