The federal government probably wants to control the growing number of corona infections with drastic contact restrictions before Christmas. Across Germany, the measures will enter into force on November 2 and not on November 4, as originally planned in the federal resolution. The German press agency learned on Wednesday of the video discussions between Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the presidents of the state ministers.
Provisional consultations on November 11
After two weeks, around November 11, the Chancellor and the heads of government want to discuss again, evaluate the objectives achieved through the measures and make the necessary adjustments.
Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) and Economy Minister Peter Altmaier want companies particularly affected by the Crown crisis to reimburse 75 percent of November 2019 sales as subsidies to current costs.

According to a federal government draft resolution, leisure facilities and restaurants throughout Germany will be closed, entertainment events will be banned, and public contacts and celebrations in squares and apartments will be restricted.

Refrain from private trips and family visits.
According to the draft resolution, the federal government wants to ask all citizens to generally refrain from private trips and family visits. “Accommodation offers in Germany are only available for necessary and expressly non-tourist purposes.”

Schools and day care centers exempt from restrictions

As Merkel and the heads of country have already emphasized, unlike spring, schools and kindergartens will remain exempt from the restrictions according to the draft.
The measures should take effect from November 2
The measures should come into force in Germany from November 2 and will apply until the end of the month.
