The president of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, went into quarantine crown. He had been informed that he had a date last Tuesday with a person who tested positive for the corona virus on Sunday, von der Leyen wrote on Twitter Monday.

On Wednesday von der Leyen chaired the weekly meeting of the EU Commission with its 26 commissioners. On Thursday and Friday, von der Leyen then participated in the special EU summit in Brussels, to which the 27 heads of state and government, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, traveled.
In reality, the summit should have taken place a week earlier, but it was postponed due to a crown case in the vicinity of EU Council President Charles Michel. Michel was also quarantined due to contact with an infected security officer.
