The objective before the change of crisis between Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the prime minister was clear: families and friends should be able to meet again at Christmas without too much fear. But for that, first everyone would have to significantly restrict themselves.
The new rules are pretty close to closing spring. They should take effect on November 2 and will initially apply until the end of the month.
Merkel made it clear at the press conference: “We have to prevent ourselves from entering an acute health emergency. We have to act – now! ”With 75 percent of infections, you no longer know where they come from!
His call: “Refrain from traveling, even with family, relatives and friends.”
The curve for new infections should decrease. And he called on citizens to be sensible and act prudent.
“We need a limited national effort,” summarizes Merkel. You want to be able to restart public life in December.

► Schools and kindergartens remain open: The country’s leaders and Merkel agreed that schools and nurseries will remain open.
► Tighter contact restrictions: The federal and state governments want to significantly restrict private contacts again. Starting Monday, only people from two households should be able to meet outdoors. The number is limited to a maximum of ten people. According to the decision, this applies “immediately”.

► Sport: Fitness studios, pools, and fun pools will be closed. Amateur sports operations will be suspended, so the clubs will no longer be able to train. Individual sports, like jogging alone, are still allowed.
► Professional sport: In view of the dramatically increasing number of corona infections, the federal and state governments only want to allow professional sports in November without spectators.
► Services: Service companies in the personal care field such as cosmetic studios, massage parlors, tattoo studios, and similar businesses are closed because physical proximity is critical in this area. Medically necessary treatments, for example physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, as well as podiatry / foot care, are still possible. Hairdressing salons remain open under existing hygiene requirements.
► Gastronomy: Restaurants, bars, clubs, discos and pubs will be closed. The delivery and collection of food for consumption at home is also allowed. The dining rooms can also open.
► Leisure: Recreational facilities will close from November 2 until the end of the month.
