Corona resolutions at a glance: controls, warning system and ventilation

If the corona pandemic is accompanied by a wave of flu, practices can get complicated. Therefore, there should be ambulances for fever. The federal government and the federal states have decided on a series of concrete measures and advice.

The number of coronavirus infections is increasing faster in Germany. “In view of the drop in temperatures, the increase in people staying in closed rooms in the fall and winter and the impending flu season, we must now take special care,” warn the federal and state governments in their joint decision.

Summary of the measures decided:

Control of mouth and nose coverage

“The virus does not forgive any negligence, it can only be fought if everyone helps!” The newspaper says. “In particular, the obligation to cover the mouth and nose in certain public areas is binding and is constantly monitored and sanctioned by the regulatory authorities.”

Penalty for incorrect information in restaurants

Anyone who provides false personal information when visiting a restaurant must face a fine of at least 50 euros. Restaurant operators should also check if the information is plausible. The data is collected to track possible contacts with infected people. Thuringia requires that it be stipulated at the national level that the information can only be used for protection against infection.

Alcohol and private parties

When the number of infections increases, “regional limited-time alcohol supply bans” will be issued to curb infections in the restaurant sector.

Federal states must establish maximum limits for the number of participants in private celebrations, in two stages. If there are more than 35 new infections per 100,000 residents in a district within seven days, a maximum of 50 people should be allowed to hold meetings in public or rented rooms, such as restaurants. For private room parties, a maximum of 25 people is “strongly recommended” but not stipulated.

If there are more than 50 new infections per 100,000 residents in a district within seven days, a maximum of 25 people should be allowed to celebrate in public or rented rooms. For celebrations in private rooms, a maximum limit of ten participants is “strongly recommended”. Exceptions may be allowed for celebrations announced with hygiene plans approved by the health department, it continues. More stringent state or local regulations are possible.

Regional restrictions

If there are more than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or independent city within seven days, a “consistent restriction concept” should be implemented immediately, possibly only for one affected facility.

Planned early warning system

Federal states should “establish an adequate early warning system” to avoid exceeding the 50-person threshold as much as possible. NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) and Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) had proposed a crown warning light.

Fever ambulances against bottlenecks

When the wave of flu expected in the fall and winter joins the corona epidemic, it should be more stringent in medical practices and hospitals. Fever ambulances, office hours, and specialist practices should provide relief.

It is recommended that risk groups, such as the elderly, get vaccinated against the flu as a precautionary measure.

Health authorities are once again reminded that they can no longer follow up on contacts with infected people who in this case must report to state authorities, which in turn alert the Robert Koch Institute.

Hygiene, application and ventilation

The AHA formula recommends a distance of 1.5 meters, hygiene such as good hand washing and wearing masks every day. Now two new letters will be added: “C” for Corona-Warn-App and “L” for Ventilation. Regular ventilation is also recommended in the cold season.
