More security at the party and in difficult blocking!
The federal government sends 27 million Germans to pharmacies to give gifts: both for everyone over 60 (regardless of whether they are healthy or pre-sick) AND for all younger pre-existing patients, initially there are three free protective masks of protection class FFP2 (and comparable) for Christmas. At the beginning of next year two vouchers of 6 masks each will be added.
BILD found out exclusively on Monday: the mask delivery will begin this Tuesday!
The corresponding ordinance of the Federal Minister of Health, Jens Spahn (40, CDU) is still being issued today.
Costs: the federal government pays 2.5 billion euros for a total of up to 405 million masks (6 euros per mask). The first masks are totally free, the other twelve only have to be paid for a total of four euros.

BILD explains how who wears the masks and when:
► All people living in Germany aged 60 or over,
► People with serious or serious pre-existing chronic diseases.
According to the regulation, these are:
– chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or bronchial asthma,
– chronic heart failure,
– stage ≥ 4 chronic kidney disease,
– dementia or stroke,
– Diabetes mellitus type 2,
active, progressive or metastatic cancer or ongoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, which can damage the immune system,
– Organ or stem cell transplantation that has been performed,
– Trisomy 21,
– high risk pregnancy.
When it starts?
► First delivery: from December 15 to January 6.
► Second and third presentation: 1st to 2nd quarter, twice with six masks each.
HOW MUCH?
► Before Christmas until January 6: three per capita. Additional payment: none.
► In January / February and March / April 2021: 6 masks each, that is, 12 in total. Additional payment: 2 euros per pack of 6.
Where and how?
► In Pharmacies.
► Now until January 6: people over 60 years old upon presentation of the DNI. Previously ill with evidence of his illness (consult only the pharmacist, better: the pharmacy of the house that knows him). People can be authorized.
► New year: Mandatory health insurance and private health insurance send two anti-counterfeiting coupons (anti-counterfeiting paper) to the beneficiaries of more than 6 masks each (since they know both the age and the previous illnesses) to their insured.
Spahn had stated in his press conference the previous week: “Even FPP2 masks do not offer one hundred percent protection against the coronavirus. They are not a free ticket to be sloppy. But they significantly reduce the risk of infection. And providing it to members of society who are particularly affected by this pandemic should be worth it for everyone. “
Feared abuse
According to Spahn, abuse during this phase cannot be ruled out. The advice is: Go to the medicine cabinet where you know to avoid being rejected. Due to the short-term nature, it could not be prevented from accessing mask users at various pharmacies.
Spahn: “It is essential that the elderly and the sick receive the best possible protection in a simple way before Christmas.”
Background: FFP2 is the second highest of the so-called FFP protection standard (against “polluting particles such as dust, smoke and aerosols”). Unlike everyday surgical masks and jackets, FFP2 works on both exhalation and inhalation. FFP2 masks filter 95 percent of particles (viruses can stick to aerosols) from ambient air when inhaled.
However, breathing becomes more difficult over time. FFP2 does not have to be in all masks, they can also be comparable masks that have been certified in other countries (DS2, N95, P2, CPA).
Spahn announced that a brochure would be published on the correct use of masks, especially for the very old.
