If it is mainly young people who are infected, a high incidence is not a problem for the health system. But: the higher the value, the more difficult it will be for health authorities to trace contacts, and there is a risk of losing control.
While most infections in the summer can be traced back to family or company celebrations or outbreaks at large companies, care centers, and shared accommodations, this is often no longer possible. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) speaks of a “diffuse event” in Berlin, caused by young travelers and international partiers, “who become infected on the go or at parties and then spread these infections in their homes and families”.
