The Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Nursing Professions has welcomed the introduction of mandatory periodic corona tests for employees in nursing homes, but sees practical problems in implementation. The staff situation is “currently the decisive bottleneck,” said House Speaker Patricia Drube of the German Press Agency. The facilities rely on additional personnel for corona tests. The facilities would receive nine euros in personnel costs for each test. However, specialized personnel must be found in such conditions. The Chamber of Nursing called on the institutions to hire staff on the #pflegereserve Internet platform. Rather, nurses who want to perform tests must also register on the website.

The Pfizer and Biontech vaccine is already on the market in the UK, Canada and the US with emergency approval. Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) emphasized in the evening on ZDF that the decision had been made from the beginning in favor of proper approval at the European level and against emergency approval. From their point of view, this is important for confidence. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) made it clear yesterday that the approval process can hardly be accelerated.
