Leopoldina asks for a hard confinement

In view of the persistently high number of new infections, the Leopoldina National Academy of Sciences, Drastically tighten the crown measurements. Compulsory schooling should be lifted from next week until Christmas holidays and contacts “reduced to the absolute minimum,” according to a press release. “From December 24, 2020 until at least January 10, 2021, public life should largely rest in Germany and a strict lockdown should be applied.” To this end, all stores except those for daily use should be closed, the Christmas holidays extended at educational institutions, and home office allowed, if possible. Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) herself yesterday raised the tightening of current regulations. In the past, he had repeatedly listened to the recommendations of scientists.

320 million students worldwide have to stay at home

Many crown infections in MV: debate about possible hardening

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) and Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) have announced that the cabinet will address the so-called hotspot strategy on Tuesday. It is the question of what happens if districts or even individual cities reach 100 or 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week. In this case, Glawe had not ruled out local exit restrictions. It is also considered unlikely that, given the increasing number of infections, the premature opening of massage practices and cosmetic studios will be allowed, as the government recently announced.
