Without alcohol in public: another blow for gastronomy

According to the Dehoga Association, the ban on serving alcohol in public is another blow to many innkeepers in this year marked by the corona pandemic. “I feel sorry for the colleagues who have set out to find a way to reduce their losses a little,” said Dehoga MV president Lars Schwarz of the German press agency. By banning the sale of alcohol, the state government wants to prevent people from gathering in front of stores or at mulled wine stands. “I can understand the decision of the state government, I also think it is consistent,” Schwarz said. It wasn’t just the goal of many retailers to improve their own cash register. They also wanted to be there for the local population and spread a little Christmas spirit.
