140 new corona cases reported in Schleswig-Holstein
According to the state government, 140 new corona cases were reported in Schleswig-Holstein in one day. That was 332 less than the day before and 14 less than a week ago. The seven-day incidence (the value of new corona infections per 100,000 people in a week) continued to rise and is therefore 79.9 nationwide. According to the information, 133 Covid 19 patients were treated in the Schleswig-Holstein hospitals; 25 of them are in intensive care units, 14 must be ventilated.

Extra ARD for hard blocking

The Tschentscher appeal: only buy things that are really necessary today and tomorrow
The retail closures decided yesterday by the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel will not apply until Wednesday. Until then, it could get very crowded in city centers again due to last minute Christmas shoppers. For this reason, the first mayor of Hamburg, Peter Tschentscher (SPD), made an urgent appeal to the population to only make the really necessary purchases in the remaining two days. There shouldn’t be a “Black Friday” situation that could negatively affect the infection process again. Hamburg was willing to close stores more quickly, but other countries were not. However, since there should be no shopping tourism, uniformity of the rules is more important than speed.

Even today, the NDR.de team will keep you updated on the effects of the corona pandemic in northern Germany. In the live ticker you will find all the important news, as well as the content of NDR radio and television programs.
Yesterday there were 2,112 new corona infections in the north: 1,139 in Lower Saxony, 472 in Schleswig-Holstein, 163 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 273 in Hamburg and 65 in the state of Bremen.
