According to the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, the forced closure at the national level will occur in the coming days. “As a result, the lockdown will occur before Christmas and not after that,” Kretschmann told the Greenland party conference in Reutlingen, referring to the change of Crown with other prime ministers and Chancellor Angela Merkel.

This Sunday’s Prime Minister’s Conference on the crown crisis was prepared there on Saturday morning. Kretschmann stressed that people should be prepared for the closure of social and economic life as much as possible next week.

Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz had already announced quick restrictions at an online event organized by the SPD: “We must take very drastic and far-reaching measures in the coming days,” Scholz said. The virus is spreading faster again, so far-reaching measures must be taken to protect citizens, the finance minister said. As an example of possible measures, Scholz cited new restrictions on retail trade.

The decisive conference of the country’s leaders with Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled for 10 am Sunday. During the phone call, new regulations will be established for the next few weeks. Merkel recently urged that schools and shops be closed as soon as possible to reduce the consistently high number of infections in Germany.

During the general debate in the Bundestag, for example, he called for the Christmas holidays for schools across the country to begin next Wednesday. According to a report in the newspaper “Bild”, the Foreign Ministry calls for not only schools to be closed, but also kindergartens and retail stores from Wednesday.

In recent days, some of the federal states, especially those with a large population, had already taken drastic measures. Bavaria, for example, has declared disaster since the middle of this week and has tightened restrictions. In Baden-Württemberg, where Kretschmann rules, strict exit restrictions apply from this Saturday, in Saxony from Monday, North Rhine-Westphalia will suspend school attendance from Monday.
