Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is still reluctant to relax protective measures before the upcoming federal-state summit on the corona pandemic. There are small steps that should lead out of the blockade.
In addition to hairdressing salons, garden centers may also reopen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from March 1. In regions with a seven-day incidence of 35 or less, cosmetics, foot care, and nail salons may see customers again. In the rest of the regions, this regulation will take effect one week later, on March 8. Visitors can then return to the outdoor areas of the zoos. The state government and representatives of business and municipal associations agreed on this at a Crown summit on Wednesday. The agreement was preceded by more than eight hours of negotiations.

Plan by phases agreed for the end of the confinement
Furthermore, the basic concepts of a step-by-step plan to end the lockdown were agreed in the video conference. Consequently, retail should reopen with a limited number of customers as soon as the national incidence value remains stable below 35. Public and private schools should then generally return to their regular operations. Museums and markets may reopen a little later. High-risk regions with incidents in seven days greater than 150 are excluded.
Outlook for restaurants and hotels too
Later on, restaurants and hotels will initially only open to guests from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. No specific start dates were given. According to the latest information from the State Office for Health and Social Affairs, only the district of Vorpommern-Rügen and the Hanseatic city of Rostock currently have fewer than 35 corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days.
