In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, authorities have registered 85 new corona infections since Friday. A total of three districts and the state capital, Schwerin, are now considered risk areas.
The number of new corona infections recorded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania increased by 85 cases from Friday to Saturday (October 31, 3:37 pm). The day before there were 173 new cases. In general, the The State Office of Health and Social Affairs (LaGuS) reported 2,876 infections in the country since March. According to The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) estimates that 1,707 (+50) of the people who tested positive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have recovered from Covid 19 disease. The death toll in the Northeast is 23. Compared to other states federal states, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania continues to have the fewest cases.
175 intensive care beds still available
Nationwide, 243 (+3) people have had or had to be treated in clinics since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, 34 of them in intensive care units. According to the intensive care registry, 15 Covid-19 patients are currently in hospital in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, seven of them need to be ventilated. A total of 563 intensive care beds are currently occupied in the Northeast, 175 are currently vacant (as of October 31, 2020, 4pm).

Most cases in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district
According to the LAGuS, the majority of those infected were or are in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district with 507 (+33) cases so far. There are currently 479 (+4) cases in the Mecklenburg Lake District. 432 (+7) infections were reported in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. In the Hanseatic city of Rostock there are so far 366 (+5) cases, in the Vorpommern-Rügen district 336 (+10) cases. In the Rostock district, authorities registered 311 (+13) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The lowest numbers were found in the Northwest Mecklenburg district with 241 (+0) and the state capital, Schwerin, with 204 (+13) cases.
Drei Kreise and Schwerin exceeded the critical incidence value

A total of three districts and the state capital exceed the critical incidence value of 50 in the northeast and are therefore considered a risk area, especially the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. There, the seven-day incidence is 68.8. It is followed by the districts of Ludiwgslust-Parchim (59.5) and West Pomerania-Rügen (53.4) and the city of Schwerin (51.2). This means that stricter rules apply to people there. For the Rostock district (42.2), the four-stage crown traffic light is “orange”. Crown measurements were also taken here. In the northwestern Mecklenburg district the seven-day incidence is 32.4 and in the Mecklenburg Lake District 25.6. At the national level, the incidence value has risen to 44.6, according to LAGuS. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is still below the critical level of 50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week.
