In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, authorities have recorded 181 new corona infections since Tuesday. Three rural districts and the state capital, Schwerin, are considered risk areas.

The number of new corona infections recorded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania increased by 181 cases from Tuesday to Wednesday (at 4:46 pm). The day before there were 154 new cases. It is the highest number of new infections recorded in 24 hours since March. In general, the The State Office of Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS) reported 3,308 infections in the country since March. According to According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 1,916 (+78) of the people who tested positive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have recovered from Covid 19 disease. The death toll in the Northeast is 24 (+0). Compared to other federal states, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania still has the fewest cases.

14 additional corona patients in hospital

Nationwide, 273 (+14) people have received or had to be treated in clinics since the corona pandemic outbreak, 37 (+3) of them in intensive care units. According to the intensive care registry, there are currently 24 Covid 19 patients in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania hospital, nine of whom must be ventilated.

54 new cases in the Vorpommern-Rügen district

According to LAGuS, the majority of those infected were or are in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district with 602 (+49) cases so far. In the Mecklenburg Lake District there are currently 516 (+6) cases. 474 (+12) infections were reported in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. In the Vorpommern-Rügen district there are so far 443 (+54) and in the Hanseatic city of Rostock 397 (+9) cases. In the Rostock district, authorities registered 343 (+13) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The lowest numbers were found in the Northwest Mecklenburg district with 290 (+23) and the state capital, Schwerin, with 243 (+15) cases.

Ludwigslust-Parchim again risk zone

Three districts, as well as the state capital, exceed the critical incidence value of 50 in the Northeast and are therefore considered a risk area, especially the Vorpommern-Rügen district. There, the seven-day incidence is 83.2. It is followed by the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald (73.8) and the state capital, Schwerin (72.1). Ludwigslust-Parchim (50.1) has once again exceeded the mark of 50 incidents and, therefore, is once again a risk area. For the Rostock district (35.2), the four-stage Corona traffic light is “orange”, as well as in the Northwest Mecklenburg district (46.4). In Mecklenburg Lake District (24.4) and in the Hanseatic city of Rostock (24.4) the traffic light is “yellow”. At the national level, the incidence value has risen to 49.7, according to LAGuS. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is just below the critical mark of 50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week.

LAGuS daily crown statistics only record people who have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. LAGuS also publishes periodic reports of infections among hosts. These are all those people who were found infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but who do not have a primary residence in the state.
