Corona in Bavaria: four locations exceed early warning value

According to the website of the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL), three cities and one district have currently exceeded Corona’s early warning value: Memmingen, Ingolstadt, Rosenheim and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen.

Travelers returning to Memmingen Reason for excess

Memmingen has exceeded the corona warning value of 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week. The city announced it today. The incidence value of 7 days is currently 38.76.

According to the city, the newly infected are predominantly travelers returning from risk areas. These are already isolated in quarantine at home. Since this is a strictly defined group of people, exceeding the warning value has no consequences for the general public. However, the city issues a general decree for returnees from risk areas, which stipulates that in Memmingen all returnees from risk areas must immediately go into domestic isolation, regardless of whether they bring a negative result or not. They also need to be tested a second time after a few days if you want to shorten the 14-day quarantine period.

Memmingen: rule tightening for returnees

Therefore, all travelers returning from risk areas must first self-quarantine at home and re-test for Corona after several days, regardless of whether they had already undergone a test abroad or upon return. .

This regulation will likely remain in effect even if the number of infections drops again, the city spokeswoman said.

Ingolstadt, Rosenheim and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen also reach early warning values

According to the LGL, in addition to the Swabian Memmingen, the cities of Ingolstadt (39.42) and Rosenheim (39.48) and the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen (36.02) in the administrative region of Central Franconia have exceeded the value of early warning. Therefore, Munich is just below 34.45.

Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen District

Among the 34 newly infected with corona in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district, who caused the limit value to be exceeded, 33 are returning travelers. These were in the risk areas of Croatia, Macedonia and Kosovo. Immediately after their return, the travelers were quarantined at home, so that a chain of infection could be stopped, the district office announced.

To verify that those infected also comply with their 14-day quarantine, the district office today decided on the so-called contact tracing. This means that citizens infected with the corona virus are called on a daily basis, but also visited at home to make sure they stay home. Additionally, no nationwide action is currently needed, according to the district office, but the coordinating group reassesses the situation every day. It is assumed that the number of infected people will continue to increase until the end of the holidays as more families return from the holidays.

These are the current crown numbers for Bavaria

In Bavaria, 57,916 people have been infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic (as of September 2, 2020, 8:00 am). That is 296 more cases than yesterday, as the LGL announced on its website.

The death toll for the whole of Bavaria is 2,639 and has therefore increased in a subsequently reported death. The LGL counts the most infected people by administrative district with 26,485 in Upper Bavaria, the fewest with 4,043 cases in Lower Franconia. The incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants reached the highest value among the administrative districts of Upper Bavaria with 22.11.

The lowest corresponding value was recorded in Upper Franconia with 4.31. This number is used to register new cases of infection that occur in one week for every 100,000 inhabitants. A value higher than 35 is considered critical, before which the health authorities would have to initiate the first countermeasures.
