Corona in Bad Essen nursing home: More than 40 people infected | NDR.de – Nachrichten – Lower Saxony

A corona outbreak occurred in a home for the elderly and elderly in Bad Essen. According to the Osnabrück district, an 85-year-old resident died in hospital.

In addition to the deceased, another 27 residents and 13 employees of the Vitalis residential park are said to have tested positive for the virus. Visitors who come into contact with infected people can get tested on Sunday starting at 3 pm at the Oberschule in Bad Essen. This also applies to household employees who have not yet been controlled for the virus. According to the district, the tests are free.

Seven-day incidence still below threshold

According to the district, a particular challenge for the health service is informing the approximately 200 visitors who could be considered contact persons about the trial option. Osnabrück district was 28.8 overall on Saturday, still well below the critical threshold of 50 new corona infections per 100,000 residents in seven days.
