Crown loosening in Bavaria

Little by little, Bavaria is loosening restrictions and measures due to the Corona crisis. “Now is the right time for a careful opening,” Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) said on Tuesday after the cabinet meeting in Munich. The state government has drawn up a concrete roadmap. Much will change very soon. A general vision

Exit restrictions: Bavaria will lift the exit restrictions from Wednesday. This means that you can leave your own apartment or house without “good reason”. Motorcycle tours are also possible again. However, a distance requirement still applies: whenever possible, a distance of at least 1.5 meters should be maintained. Contact restrictions and a ban on gathering people in public spaces also remain. Therefore, you can only have contact with one person outside your home at the same time.

There will be an exception for family members in the future, even if they do not belong to their own home. Starting on Wednesday, it is allowed to meet or visit relatives from the closest circle, for example, children, parents, grandparents and siblings. “We want to strengthen the family,” Söder said Tuesday.

Visits to hospitals and nursing homes: Visits to clinics, nursing homes, nursing homes and facilities for the disabled should also be allowed again for a permanent contact person from the weekend onwards, in other words, to coincide with Mother’s Day. Everything, of course, under strict hygiene and protection measures. This includes compliance with a fixed visiting time, a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and the obligation to wear mouth protection for visitors and people visited.

Schools: On May 11 classes should return to the schools that will graduate next year. Fourth graders can also return to their classrooms. Gradually, it should continue for the other grades. Starting with the youngest classes, depending on the type of school, with the first, fifth or sixth class. A “limited offer” for all middle classes in primary schools is also conceivable, Culture Minister Michael Piazolo (free voters) said Tuesday. Only after the Pentecost break in mid-June should there be face-to-face classes for all students and all ages. School operations resumed in late April with final grades after a long forced break.

However, a normal day-to-day school life is not yet seen: the Corona schedule of the state government stipulates that “as a general rule, staggered teaching will take place in weekly groups”. In concrete terms, this means a weekly change between classroom instruction and home instruction. Holidays, on the other hand, should take place fairly regularly, but according to the Minister of Education, there should be the possibility of taking exams, for example; Emergency care must also be guaranteed.

Nor is there attendance until Pentecost; This applies both to teachers belonging to a risk group and to students whose family members are particularly at risk. “Bavarian schools should be a haven where students and their teachers feel safe despite Corona,” he said.

Kindergartens: When little ones can return to kindergarten or daycare is still unclear, at least there are no plans for all children. Starting May 25, preschoolers will start again. Social Affairs Minister Carolina Trautner (CSU) said after the cabinet meeting that they were a little older and could better understand hygiene measures. The kindergarten also has an educational mandate with them. Forest nurseries can also reopen on May 25. By Pentecost, about half of all kindergarten and kindergarten children will return to kindergarten.

Child caregivers can start child care again starting next Monday, but only in small, fixed groups with a maximum of five children. In addition, privately organized mutual childcare should be allowed in small, fixed groups of up to three families. Attention should also be paid to children with special educational needs and children with special needs.

Playground: Many children’s eyes were sad to see the empty playgrounds, but that is also the end: the playgrounds in Bavaria can be opened again this Wednesday. Soccer fields are exempt from regulation.

Business: The above restriction to a maximum sales area of 800 square meters no longer applies. This means that even the largest stores, department stores and shopping malls can be completely re-opened. However, a mask should generally be used in shopping malls and department stores.

Restaurants and hotels: Restaurants and hotels should also gradually reopen by the end of May: With the appropriate authorization regulations, restaurants can reopen their outdoor areas on May 18. The beer gardens can also be visited again soon enough at a sufficient distance from the next guest; however, according to Söder, they should only be open until 8 p.m. The interiors of the restaurants will follow a week later, on May 25, with more individual tables. Separate family areas can also be conceived, said Economy Minister Hubert Aiwanger (free voters).

Hotels can host tourists again from May 30. “However, without a sauna, without wellness, without swimming pools, with strict hygiene concepts,” said Söder.

Services: Service companies, such as nail and cosmetic studios, may also reopen. The conditions will be similar to those of hairdressers. Tattoo studios can also reopen under appropriate conditions.

Zoos and museums: Zoos, botanical gardens, museums, libraries, galleries, exhibitions, and monuments can also be reopened, subject to certain conditions, of course. For example, admission is limited to one person per 20 square meters, distance rules apply, and all restaurants must remain closed. Pet zoos are also closed.

Sports: Certain individual sports are allowed again in Bavaria. These include sports such as tennis, athletics, golf, sailing, and horseback riding. The latter even in the hallway, because there may be enough distance. Team sports are not yet allowed. At the moment, there is no plan for gyms either. According to Söder, when the studies can be reopened depends on the number of infections. The outdoor pools will also remain closed at least until June.

Driving and music schools: If you want to get your driver’s license, you have the option again: the theoretical lessons must be carried out at a sufficient distance, a mask is required in the car. Music students can also resume individual lessons, even on their own four walls.
