The North Frisian district has found around 100 guests who visited a restaurant on Sylt on the night of 3-4 October. Among the many guests at the party was a person infected by the crown.

101 people have now turned up in the North Friesland district and stated that they had been to the “American Bistro” in Westerland on Sylt on the night of October 3rd. The district searches all guests who were there in the period in question. The reason: A man tested positive for the coronavirus in the middle of the week, then it turned out that he had visited the popular restaurant prior to the test result. The rules of distance and hygiene may not have been properly observed there. According to his account, between 70 and 100 people were in the bistro at the same time as him.

Corona tests scheduled for Monday

The district has to spend a lot of time looking for them, because the restaurant operator was only able to provide incomplete and mostly incorrect lists of contact details. The district received more than 200 calls and 50 emails in 24 hours, 101 of them were present during the period in question. The district health office will reach out to people and will likely carry out corona tests on Monday afternoon, as announced by Nina Rahder, head of the department of safety, health and veterinary medicine at the North Frisia district administration.

Was it a “super spread” night?

Husum’s health department still asks everyone to report who was at the “American Bistro”, Paulstrasse 3 in Westerland, from 11:30 pm on the night of October 3-4, 2020. He can be contacted at the authority on Monday from 8 am to 4 pm on 0800 200 66 22. Alternatively, the correct contact details (name, address, phone number, time of visit) can be sent by email to [email protected] .

There is no penalty for incorrect contact details

As announced by the circle, in this case a fine for incorrect contact details is waived. “All we care about now is stopping the spread of the virus,” Rahder said. However, the extent to which the restaurant operator has violated current Corona rules is now being determined. For the time being, he voluntarily closed his bistro. According to Rahder, it cannot be ruled out that employees were also exposed to an increased risk of infection and also needed to be tested.
