Corona admission stop at various Berlin hospitals

SedanThe intensive care units of several hospitals in the capital are very busy, so they are not currently accepting more patients with Covid-19. The Emil von Behring Clinic (Zehlendorf), the Humboldt Clinic (Borsigwalde) and the Auguste Viktoria Clinic (Schöneberg) are affected. At several other clinics, available intensive care beds are limited.

This comes from a corresponding record from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI). This works in conjunction with the Robert Koch Institute. The “Berliner Morgenpost” also reported that ambulance services and ambulance transport could no longer go to St. Marien Hospital in Lankwitz until Monday.

Admission stop at Neukölln clinic?

According to Friday’s daily report, DIVI’s intensive care registry currently records nationwide “with 1,288 hospital locations reporting the intensive care of COVID-19 patients.” The number of notification rooms fluctuates daily, which, for example, could lead to “fewer treatments completed compared to the previous day,” according to the registry.

According to a “Tagesspiegel” report, the Vivantes Hospital in Neukölln is also considering freezing the admission. Consequently, it could soon be discharged from emergency services, which would mean that ambulances and firefighters would have to approach other facilities. “The problem is not the occupied beds, but the lack of nurses,” said a Vivantes doctor after the report. The Humboldt and Auguste Viktoria Clinics are also part of Vivantes.
