After the dispute over the cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad escalated, the conflict between France and Turkey escalated. Meanwhile, the French satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” presents again a special cartoon of the Turkish head of state.

The French satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” puts a cartoon of the Turkish head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the cover of its new issue. According to a Twitter message, the drawing is titled “Erdogan – in private is a lot of fun” and shows the president sitting in an armchair while lifting a woman’s veil. The new edition of “Charlie Hebdo” will appear on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the mood between France and Turkey remains very heated after the dispute over the cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad escalated. France’s head of state, Emmanuel Macron, is coming under increasingly harsh criticism around the world for his statements on Islam and the Muhammad cartoons.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov compared the French head of state to a “terrorist”. Macron provokes Muslims and gradually “looks like a terrorist,” Kadyrov wrote on the Telegram messenger service. “By supporting provocations, he secretly urges Muslims to commit crimes.”

The tensions were sparked by Macron’s statements in defense of freedom of expression following the Islamist attack on a teacher near Paris who was showing Muhammad cartoons in his class. The president also found clear words against the Islamists and stressed that France “will not give up cartoons and drawings.” Furthermore, Macron recently certified that Islam is in a “crisis”.

Macron’s remarks brought more than 40,000 people to the streets in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, according to police. The protesters called for a boycott of French products and burned a photo of Macron. The protest was organized by Islami Andolan, one of the largest Islamist parties in the Muslim-majority country. “Macron is one of the few leaders who worship Satan,” party representative Ataur Rahman said at the rally.
